Support Homeland Security with your technical expertise in test engineering. The Semper Valens Solutions (SVS) PD Aerostats group is seeking technical Military trained and experienced professionals for the Aerostats Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance program. This program provides support for the following systems: Persistent Threat Detection Systems (PTDS), Joint Combat Identification Marking Systems (JCIMS), Communications, Computers, Combat Systems, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR), Persistent Ground Surveillance Systems (PGSS), Persistent Surveillance Systems – Tethered (PSS-T), Winch Aerostat Small Platform, and other products/systems as they are transitioned to be managed by PD Aerostats. This program for SVS is contingent upon award.
Systems Engineer Responsibilities:
Ø Support, maintain and design systems related to aerostat system management.
Ø Coordinate with departments, and contract teams to develop, test, and deliver software updates.
Ø Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, and risk analyses.
Ø Administer configuration management processes.
Ø System test criteria specification as well as work with test operators to develop effective test strategies.
Ø Translate user need into hardware, software and systems.
Ø Validate, troubleshoot and resolve problems discovered during testing, integration and fielding of GPS receiver updates.
Systems Engineer Qualifications:
The senior systems engineer shall have the minimum qualifications and have demonstrated the ability to perform the following duties:
Ø Have a current Top Secret / (SCI).
Ø 8 years of direct applicable experience.
Ø Technical competency in systems integration efforts and methodologies
Ø General understanding of Army tactical operations and surveillance challenges (especially as related to persistent surveillance requirements)
Ø Ability to provide project/program management and adhere to program objectives, schedules, and milestones
Ø Ability to provide motivation to each engineering cell and ensure continuity across engineering department
Ø knowledge of remote airborne sensor control; sensor physics; and the processing and distribution of sensor information in a tactical environment.
Ø Bachelors of Science, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science Degree from an accredited institution or related field is preferred.
Ø Knowledge of the DoD Acquisition processes is a not necessary.
Ø Experience with tethered, lighter than air aerial surveillance systems.
Ø Skills, abilities, and knowledge of one or more systems:
