“There is nothing to be learned from the second kick of a mule.” Mark Twain
We all experience failure from time to time and make mistakes. This occurs within every organization no matter how long you’ve been in business or how “mature” your processes are. It’s important to have a company culture that understands, calls out, and embraces failures. Our mistakes can be our best teachers if we are humble enough to accept them, learn from them, and bold enough to adapt and change from them. As leaders, we cannot be paralyzed by the fear of “making a mistake.” Instead, learn from your mistakes as they occur and find a way to improve. Develop a culture within your organization that see’s temporary failures as the pathway to ultimate success.
