Semper Valens Solutions is looking for IT professionals for our Mission Command Software Support team.  This team develops, integrates, fields and supports the Army’s core mission command collaborative environment and maneuver applications to enable operating force commanders to make timely and effective decisions within the Army and joint/coalition environments.

System Administrator Specialist Duties:

  • Schedule, plan, and oversee system upgrades.
  • Develop functional requirements through interaction with end-users and coordinate with development teams on systematic enhancements or changes.
  • Configure operating systems (Unix, Linux, Windows) and associated supporting software and utilities to optimize systems performance and systems services.
  • Perform an analysis of the benefits and risks of implementing hardware and software updates prior to implementing changes.
  • Validate and implement critical system patches.
  • Administer, manage and optimize system data and databases.
  • Coordinate with vendor OEM personnel as necessary to administer systems.
  • Maintain classified and unclassified data storage systems.
  • Provide user support for all computer systems.
  • Maintain utilization, availability and performance data, and operation and maintenance logs.
  • Perform root causes analysis when directed by the Government or when data indicate a trend requiring further analysis.
  • Interact and collaborate with all levels of the team to provide analysis, recommendations, and direction related to system administration functions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

System Administrator Specialist Qualifications:

·         A bachelor’s Degree in computer science or engineering discipline and 4 years functional experience in Windows Server systems administration including: information security/authorization profiles; configuration of hardware devices; testing new software; managing servers, including installing and upgrading servers; monitoring system configuration; monitoring and developing the procedures for backups of the servers. 

·         Three additional years of direct relevant system administration experience may be substituted.

·         Experience with Mission Command environments or applications such as Common Operating Environment, Command Post Computing Environment, Command Post of the Future, Common Battle Command Common Services or Tactical Server Infrastructure desirable.

·         Must have a current DoD clearance; minimum Secret level.

·         Must demonstrate a professional approach and demeanor.




·         Security+ certification.

·         35T Army experience and training.

Compensation Detail:

·         DOE - Depending on experience and education
